DGHSK took review meet of health care preparedness

Srinagar 01 july 2018 CNN: Director General Health Services,Kashmir (DGHSK) Dr Saleem ur Rehman today chaired a meeting at Public Health Building, Barzulla wherein he took review of health care preparedness.He also took stock of the Rapid Response Teams framed by the department to contain any disease outbreak which may arise due to any waterlogging post flood like situation.The meeting was attended  by various Divisional level officers,Chief Medical Officers, State Health Transport Officer, State Surveillance Officer and other officials.

DGHSK stressed upon the officers to ensure adequate stock of requisite drugs and logistics readily available both at divisional & district level and particularly with District Disaster Management Teams. He also stressed upon all the Divisional & District level officers to be pro active and act timely in case of any outbreak of water borne diseases.

The Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) constituted by Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) unit across vulnerable districts have been kept on high alert & directed to work on real time basis.The teams have to report instantly in case of any disease outbreak so to contain its spread and treat the affected population.The RRTs are in direct command of the Divisonal Control Room established at barzulla.

DGHSK directed the officers to increase the quantum of awareness among general public and stress them to drink boiled water, maintain good hygeine and inculcate proper handwashing habits.The department has adequate supplies of Chlorine Tablets/Measles Vaccines also which have been distributed accordingly as per the need.The department is keeping a keen vigil on the events and have prepared a detailed action plan to tackle any situation with prompt & effective measures for which all homework has been deliberated upon.

The areas which have chance of getting or are waterlogged are the prime focus for the department and the directorate has devised a contingency plan to tackle any health crisis effectively.
